Checkpoint 4)Sketches and description of Henderson Secondary School

Henderson Secondary School

Observations and Analysis.
> there are bus stops right in front of the school and also across it
   - students or employees can take the bus as a mode of transport to reach the school
   -  buses will then add to the variety of modes of transport to reach the destination, which in this case would be the school
> there are HDB flats opposite the school
   - residents living in this area could admit their children into the school as it is within a short walking distance
   - it would be simple and effective for those living in this area to reach the school
> the traffic crossing has an island in the middle of the road
   - allows people, especially the elderly, to be able to rest and take a breather after walking through halfway across the road, therefore, it shows that the health of people, mostly the elderly, is important as by rushing the whole distance of the road, it may affect their breathing which may lead to health consequences.
    -  it serves as a safety point as people would not risk their safety to cross the whole distance of the road
> hawker centre within a walking distance from the school
   - students are easily able to get food from the hawker centre
   - the hawker centre will also benefit in terms of business as residents as well as students could buy food or drinks from the hawker centre
The atmosphere can be chaotic as there are students, hawkers as well as passing vehicles from one point to another. Bus stops there are also usually filled with people waiting for the buses to arrive.
As a student of Henderson Secondary School, I would find it effective and convenient to travel to this school as there are plenty of resources and mode of travelling to get to this school.
Future.
This school may be renovated to look more modern and eye-appealing. Also, to match the modern-day needs, it may so change to a more future like school. However, due to the limited land space, there is a possibility whereby the school would move to another location.
